The complaint around here by a few is that 99% of the memes here are either not entirely original or not truly funny. If someone thought of it on their own then yes it is original. Maybe not great in some people's opinion, but still technically original. What you think is"truly funny" may not be what that guy over there thinks is truly funny. But I guess we all like to think we are the authority on what funny actually is right? That also leads me to say that no idea gets yanked from the universe once one person thinks of it. Yes, there are a crap ton of blatantly copied, pasted and submitted memes around here. And those are SUPPOSED to go to the repost stream. It seems that is not being enforced. Flag those if you do not like them in the FUN stream. Maybe people will put them in the repost stream next time. Maybe not. I am betting on not.

All that aside, it's very unfunny and unoriginal to complain about supposedly unfunny and unoriginal memes. Most people with this complaint are simply bitter because they do not get up votes as they feel they deserve, or they never reach the front page, especially while others who are reposting and not being funny seem to live there. So it appears that you have become what you hate. Congratulations. NEXT!

I create memes based on some of my life experiences to make it original 😛 but a lot of it has been receptive, work, work, work.

To analyze the meme, what Nixie is basically saying is that what the majority think is funny may not be funny to the minority. Sort of ironic out of all your memes this one makes it to front page. I agree with you in some respects that many memes that aren't that funny or original rack up the points while other more clever content gets ignored. It's frustrating, I get that. But instead of complaining why not just ignore those posts and upvote the ones you like? Memes by definition aren't really original because people are simply captioning pictures they found online or posting jokes that have already been told. The point of imgflip is to amuse and entertain and have fun. (Unless you're talking about the politics stream, lol) At least that's why I'm here. I like your stuff so just hang in there. It takes time to get noticed.

He could take a greasy dump on a canvas, post it and get top spot. At least he's honest about them being reposts tho. I can respect that.

I will tell you what causes that to happen. Once all these streams needed moderators I was invited to moderate several. When I see memes by this one come in for approval they come in with at LEAST 15 up votes. So by the time one gets featured it already has enough up votes to show up on the front 2-3 HOT pages. So none of those memes have ever got to fight their way to the top. They start out there in the first place.

They count. They give quite a head start. I kinda think it's a little unfair. But again, if someone has enough people to pass their meme around to before feature I guess that's their good luck.

I remember a meme going back 6 months that complained about reposts and he chimed in saying alot appreciated his work tracking down and reposting memes others appreciated.
