i know that the generality of life and the size of the galaxy and the frequency of habitable planets all come into it as well. so does intergalactic travel, of which we have zero knowledge

I just find it a little ridiculous to say that thousands of years ago somebody from another solar system came millions of miles, stayed for a while, built all of these things, and then said "peace out" and left and never came back.
That to me takes away from how amazing it is for people to have built some of those structures using the technology they had at the time

The one thing I do remember is a game we had called, "help me, help me, help!" Basically we were hanging off of the arm rest hollering for help. LOL... we tore the hell out of the furniture.

"Help me, help me!" Sounds like a riot, though 😆

We used to sneak out at nap time with our pillow cases and hop up and down the street in our own little potato sack race. Got quite a few arse whoopings from doing that. LOL!

The mental image of that is pretty hilarious.
And what the hell is happening in that picture 😆

There were 4 of us. My older brother being the evil mastermind. His twin sister also evil.

I am so glad my kids don't do even a fraction of what we did.

I actually don't know whose expression is funnier in that picture; the one doing the kicking or the one getting kicked 😆

Closest I can think of is when my older brother used to give us "butt boosters"
He would lay on his back and we would sit on his feet and then he would launch us across the room

The stuff they used was cutting edge 50 years ago.
A lesser know fact is the floor below that room is where all the computers were that ran the mission. There were even more consoles in rooms adjacent to the main mission control room

Problem is the money it will take to build new the rockets, CMs, and LMs needed for the trips. I'm excited to see it happend. I hope we as a nation can make it happen.
Not only for discovery sake and because there are few people around anymore who have seen somebody land on the moon, but also because of how divided our country has gotten recently it could really be something to bring people together again

i'm guessing that a few memers commented excessively before the time was created, and somehow that made too much work for the mods? maybe someone has to read every single comment at some point, and then unlimited comments could be very annoying

Maybe they could have it as like a milestone you unlock or something. Like once you get like 200k points or something the system realizes that you're actually contributing

It does make it easier for newer users to get established if they aren't as tied down.
Having the 1000 point threshold taken away has made it easier so people don't have to spam crap posts or slog along upvoting everything.
It has helped clear some of the lame crap. Some, not a lot
