Viva La Revolution!

It's ever so slightly more complicated than that

The actual event is. But the beginning of all revolutions is simple realization. That plants the seed of hope and starts to remove fear. "The giants are really mice."

No. To start with, the overwhelming numbers of revolutions throughout history are fantasies of people storming the gates, but in actual fact were the government letting the people storm the gates because they were switching sides on the person in power and replacing him. The number of genuine people's rebellions are very, very few.

It is complex from start to end and that is a critical thing for any aspiring revolutionary to understand.

I studied world history through its vanity, intimidation, greed, etc. going back to 6 B.C with a focus on world dictators/rulers. All revolutions begin in the mind. Then the actions follow. The mind is the place of hope and inspiration. Realization is a powerful thing. So is math. 99% is always greater than 1%.

So, what is the difference - in your observations - between failed popular revolutions such as, let's say, the European 1848 revolutions, and a successful one such as - let's pick a generic one as possible - let's say South America in the 1820's, if you've no objection?

There is no way to answer that question without knowing all the factors involved.
What was the power access?
What was the location hardships?
What was the communication streams?
What was the manner of cooperation? Any glitches? Any delays?
What was the environmental conditions?
What were the advantages and disadvantages of both?
What was the fear component?
What doubt was used to weaken the people?
There's no way to make a claim that any single thing caused a failure.
A failure is the result of a chain reaction of many things going wrong.
Revolutions like war is a science.

Math: 99% is greater than 1%.
That's the part that people often forget. We are all stronger when we work together than in our separate groups.
