I truly believe that we are all wired differently. I know some people who simply do not function in the morning, but at night they are sharp as a tack. I do not happen to be one of those people though. LOL

That generally hits me at eleven

Had to put my dog of 8 years down today. A German shepherd mix with bad hips. Heart of a lion tho. Broke my heart.

That's rough. It is hard thing to have to do. You mentioned your dog to me before. IT's hard to watch them suffer yet hard to let them go as well. ((HUGS))

Damn, it was tough. I had to carry her up and down steps since I got her. And although for the first couple years she was good, just ran like a retard but I lived in the country with farmland and she'd run for an hour or so with a golden retriever and a white pitbull that lived next door, she was a nice brindle German shepherd mix, i think with golden retriever, maybe, but the last couple years she really slowed down.

She was abused before I got her and she just wanted to please. I've had a few dogs but the German shepherd has a strange understanding. It's said the well bred ones are mentally comparable to 2 year olds. My dog was always considerate of people and animals. And I mean, always. Except sheep, for some reason. Besides that 100% Docile. You could beat me with a pan and she'd just sit there.

I assume it must be hard now that you don't have to carry her up the stairs anymore. Funny how little things like that make us feel a little lost. At least for me anyway. Sounds like you had a real sweet heart on your hands. Being that she came from abuse you know you gave her love and treated her well, so she was surely grateful for that. There is a German Shepard next door to me, his name is "Savage". And he is anything but savage. LOL. He is a big old baby. So that theory about their mentality could very well be true.

You aren't rambling. I don't mind hearing about your dog. And if it helps to talk please do. I certainly am always glad to lend an ear.
