You confuse "species" with "kind". "Kind" is how the Bible describes those put on the ark. It more closely resembles "Genus" but in some cases it overlaps with our term species. You can't impose 21st century terms on ancient manuscripts and expect to understand what was being communicated back then. There are far less "kinds" than there are species. I'm not making an argument for or against, explaining that old categories aren't the same as our new ones. The term "species" is hard to pin down even today into what actually constitutes a species in some cases.
