Ok, so, here's where I'll let you in on the thing: I'm vegan and this is actually a social experiment, so, I don't wanna actually legalise dog meat. Dyou think that just because weve domesticated certain animals for companionship and given them rights and havent done this with others that that would justify taking their life, if we put ourselves in their position?

I would be fine with legalizing dog meat.

Rabbit meat is legal but we had no problem keeping them as pets and we had a great time with ours when I was growing up. Nobody ate them afterwards. Just because we could, doesn't mean we were going to.

Dogs are domestic animals. They are meant to be companions to humans. Same with cats.

Cows, chickens, and pigs on the other hand are different. They are meant to be eaten.

I already told you. Dogs are domestic animals. They've assisted humanity for thousands of years.

So, we've also been using other animals for thousands of years, plus being racist towards other humans for thousands of years. Just because they're domestic animals, does that mean that they're different to dogs, in terms of their ability to suffer? Let's put this in the human context: would you justify racism and unequal treatment of humans by saying "these humans are should be given rights and be treated a particular way, in a fair way, and these shouldn't"? Just a thought.

There's on thing wrong with domestic dogs. However, racism is all kinds of wrong.
