Yeah, it's ok to kill plants because they don't scream in your language.

Ever see footage of all the critters who die so you can smoke cigarrettes?

Why is killing an animal for food necessary, when we have alternatives that are just as nutritious (plants are where animals get all of their nutrients from), really tasty, significantly less harmful to the planet and that don't involve slaughtering animals? Wouldn't we be terrified if we were in their position and wouldn't we want somebody to speak out for us?
To your point about animals killing other animals: whilst it's true that wild animals do kill other animals, does this provide moral justification for us to pay for animals to be killed? Let's put it in this context: wild animals like lions and tigers do many things that we, as humans, do not do, such as killing and eating their own young, so, would that then morally justify a human killing their own baby and eating them, because other animals do it?
They are also physically and mentally equipped to kill and eat their prey raw. They have claws and sharp teeth to be able to rip through flesh and the much higher level of acidity in their stomach can also handle eating raw flesh. Wild animals lack moral agency, which we do have, as humans. Moral agency gives us the ability to act based on right and wrong. Animals in the wild do not have this ability.
If we were in the situation of killing animals ourselves, rather than paying for it to be done in slaughterhouses and on farms, would we be able to bring ourselves to do it?
Would be able to do it with our bare hands and eat the flesh raw?
Also, 75% of the strongest land animals eat only plants, including apes, who we're most closely related to and who we evolved from.
Animal products are also the biggest contributors to the 3 diseases that are the biggest killers of humans: diabetes, cancer and heart disease.
So, given all these factors, doesn't it make sense to not kill animals for food and other purposes?
