Britain has a constitutional framework - it just hasn't been codified into a single document. It's distributed over a series of acts.

Yes, but it lacks the protections that the US constitution has. That's why you can go to jail for a joke, have the police show up to check your wrongthink, and have the government take your spoon.

What in the devil are you talking about in each of those cases?

Let's be clear: the "joke" was that he posted a video of him training his dog to give a Nazi salute to the command "gas the Jews".

For violating the communications act of 2003, he was fined £800 and - I cannot emphasise this enough - HE RECEIVED NO JAIL TIME.

Get a life.

No, he received no prison sentence, that's not the same as what I said. He faced the possibility of a prison sentence of up to a year for the joke. And nice of you to drop the context of what he did as well. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Meechan#Arrest

And then the courts decided that was a bit much for what he did so they didn't give it to him. What is the problem?

Stop reading trash newspapers for news. The comedian on Twitter made a slew of harassing and threatening tweets - but one of them was a limerick so how ridiculous of the police to check that nobody was in danger. The police made a routine patrol for knives in a city where knife crime is how children die - but one of them was a spoon so what a waste of time.

People are manipulating you for your hair trigger sense of outrage and general ignorance of what the police can and can't do in Britain. Doesn't that piss you off? That if someone can just word their story the right way they can get you to fight for them when they don't deserve it?

So basically you do not believe in the right of free speech, are OK with government agents showing up and harassing people because wrongthink makes other uncomfortable mischaracterizing why the police themselves say they looked into it, and are just fine with disarming regular people and then are concerned when they when the same people are put in danger by the disarming.

Given you are pretending to know what I think, and then throwing hate and insults my way based off such it seems that you're trigged by other points of view.

It wasn't harassment. It wasn't wrongthink. The police have explained themselves and it makes sense to me - the guy you're defending was being the harasser and possibly dangerous. When it turned out that he was just being a dick, they left him alone.

He wasn't making someone feel uncomfortable - he was making someone feel unsafe.

Nobody's been disarmed in the UK - our gun laws have largely been the same for a very long time, we never really had free-for-all access to them in the first place.

And if you find it insulting that putting these stories into perspective doesn't fit your narrative, that says more about you than it does about me.

1. The police themselves said it was because people felt uncomfortable. I'll take their work over why they did what they did over yours. Especially sense you mischaracterized what I have said several times already.

2. Yes they are being disarmed, I didn't mention guns anywhere, they are taking spoons and steels. Even then your gun argument has no impact of being disarmed of firearms either. The laws for this where tightened quite a while back in the 70s, 80s, and again in the 90s.

3. Your insults are separate from you having a different opinion on these issues. Your willingness to mischaracterize what I've said, pretend to know what I think so you can argue that instead of what I've said, and insult me for thinking differently shows much about you.

Good thing they're concerned with spoons and people hiding their faces! Not like children are being raped or anything!
