This was actually covered live for several hours last fall, with news reporters wringing their hands and speculating on how long the people could live with no food or water, how long it would take searchers to go through the complex maze and what would happen if the searchers got lost in the sophisticated maze system. They pontificated on what would happen if they couldn't be found that night, and how they would survive temperatures in the mid 40s. Searchers developed a systematic plan and eventually rescued the poor lost souls and brought them out to safety. All this took place next to a busy, noisy highway, where one tv company set up cameras and lights. In my younger days we would turn our heads as we called out to our lost drunk friends, "Follow the sound of my voice!" I guess you had to be there. Then we have the recent cave rescue of the soccer team, I won't make fun of that. (I served as president of a Rocky Mountain Search and Rescue Team for 5 years).
