Sorry for the misunderstanding. The Burned Fur movement was a sort of "witch hunt" in which furverts were intimidated to leave the fandom. The person who started the movement (their pseudonym was Squee Rat) failed an interview during which they presented furry art of "a stylized panda in a bowling shirt and khakis". Squee Rat blamed the bad parts of the fandom and started writing a "furry manifesto" which reached the public eye. 3 minor news outlets published about the furry fandom and soon enough, outlets like Marie Claire and Vanity Fair published their own articles about the "furry fetish".

I personally classify us as a society or microcosm. Meanwhile, I classify the anti-furries as a barbaric tribe or cult.
