I think you're right it's become so commonplace people don't give a second thought to it although I don't think anyone is forcing anyone else. My point is those who don't even believe in God or Jesus say their names even in their minds these beings don't exist. Doesn't make sense to me.

It's been specifically pushed in media, movies tv etc. I also find myself having to resist the urge to say Jesus Christ when exasperated. I'm not sure why it's so effective tho. Maybe just constant repetition over the years really effects one.

Like I said, They've been conditioned, so while some probably do it to mock God because they hate religion, some aren't even aware they are sinning while doing it.

But yeah, most hate hearing about God or Jesus in a positive way, it makes you wonder why they want to say it, even when used in a negative manner.

Many of the same people who complain about all the evil in the world are the same ones who disregard God and mock His name. :( no wonder the world is getting worse, not better.

Are Christians allowed to use any kind of negativity in association with the lord or his prophet ?

Think of it this way. How much do you respect and love your wife? Would you appreciate it if people only thought of her or mentioned her name when they were angry as a curse word? What if they constantly bad mouthed her character? Would you want to defend her good name or just say "heck everyone's doing it, who cares" how would that reflect on you as a husband? Or if they used her words against her or pictures to insult her? Any decent man who loves his wife would not tolerate that in the least. So what about God whom we believe created the universe, lives each soul eternally and only wants our good? Should not those who claim to follow Jesus also defend him? In fact more than they would another human being? Hope that helps. Thanks for asking!

Unfortunately my wife isn’t lord and master of the universe both omnipotent & omnipresent with a ‘plan’ ( gods plan ) for each and every one of us.
I think when people call out god or his prophets name in anger it is maybe to call him out on his plan ( temporarily) failing them.
I also agree with SydneyB that it’s programmed into the society to mock god at his/her failings.
Surely both my wife and god should be at least verbally remonstrated and be capable of defending themselves (without someone else’s help) if they adversely affect the lives of others.
