That's all fine. I'm not upset. I try not to respond at all if anyone's writing anything downright nasty.
If you would like me to explain myself: in all honesty, I do still feel a cognitive dissonance between what you said the intention of the meme is, and the meme itself. If it weren't for what you wrote in the title, I'd probably be able to believe that you were being full on satirical with the "change my mind" meme and "but don't use the comments" part. But the title made it look like you were being completely serious that you have a gripe with us using the comments for the exact purpose they're for. It was like you're inviting debate, but only where you don't have to hear any rebuttals. I found it weird. Honestly, I still do.
You and I have interactions going back a very long way, don't we? Because we used to regularly debate philosophy and religion and shit a good four years ago. And that was all fond memories. So I've no intention of harassing you or trying to get under your skin, and I'm not trying to belittle you as a person.
But, if I think you're trying to make a silly point or a silly argument - and we all do, nobody pulls off a Cicero every time they speak - I probably will belittle the point you're trying to make, but I'll always back that up with a clear explanation as to why I found it silly, as long as the person I'm talking to isn't being a nuisance about the discussion. If it's productive to do so, I'll lay out my reasoning. I'm a teacher: I expect everyone to show their working, including myself.
Is that ok? The comments are here to give a feedback channel on the memes and there's no way to disable the comments - so it doesn't make sense to me to pick a fight on that. That's all. I'm not trying to say you're stupid, because I don't think you are
