You would not be the first person to suggest I have no brain. I suspect you won't be the last. But, I don't consider socialism, a disproven nineteenth century economic philosophy to be a "liberal," proposal. I judge Churchill by his results. Strong leaders, like him, are not always great philosophers, however.

That Churchill-quote came into my mind when I scrolled by your meme, so I just wanted to leave it there, as a discussion starter not as a philosophical dogma- although I vagely remember having heard some ancient Greek (was it Socrates?) making a similar statement. For my share & for my career that statement perfectly applys. -by no means was I suggesting you were brainless. I observe your memes to be thoughtfull.

Like Hamlet, "I could accuse me of such things......" I take no offense when people point out my imperfections. They remind me to try harder.

When the Lusitania sunk, Churchill arranged for all of the caskets brought to the pier to be draped in American flags, to motivate us to go to war. He was a very clever guy. It helps to have leaders who are as bright as they are brash, when things are tough. Teddy Roosevelt comes to mind.

Reagan took away about one-third of my earned Social Security benefit in a 1983 law. Since private retirement investment, and private health care are still thriving, these three programs do not qualify as socialism. Some people call Trump a strong leader. Does the large number who are misinformed in that regard also make it so?
