If you wanted to make that work, you could perhaps try for "we don't need sprinklers, that's what the fire department is for". Or maybe the fire extinguishers.
The smoke alarm is doing the job of your burglar alarm, not your gun. You're trying to say that your gun is the tool of first response before professional emergency services can show, not that it's somehow a tool of emergency detection. That's just dumb.
