I’m not saying that most of the restaurants are bad around the area where I live. Let’s just say that most ought to be required to post a sign that says “Many served, and most survived”.

I live in Rhode Island, and a few restaurants around here have been shut down due to bad health checks, so to speak. These ignorant owners don't wanna take the time to maintain their facilities. It's all about whatever they can rake in for cash. The heck with proper sanitation! It's the same with slum lords

I live in New Hampshire, near the US Canada border. The area is largely wilderness, and for many localities there is absolutely no local government. For the areas that do have some sort of government, it is the barest of necessities and usually does not include health inspectors for restaurants. No inspections = perpetual bad habits.

Roughly where are you in Rhode Island? I worked in Providence a number of years ago, building a heart defibrillator with some tp-notch engineers at Bay Computer.
