Day 71, The implications of this event, especially in light of #George_Washington's words are daunting to say the least. But the sadder fact is even before #Julian_Assange's arrest the signs that we were not truly a democracy and that our freedoms of speech were being impinged on were already there. To wake up and realize that your government is not really yours when you've been taught your whole life it was the exact opposite with freedom and American hot apple pie is quite jarring. And if politically awake this should make you quite angry. Though true unchecked anger can get the better of us it is a healthy No response. It tells us when we don't want something, and furthermore prompts us to act. Once we get through this initial stage and can really examine why we are doing the things that we do, which really should come from a Love of humanity and the Earth, then we can start hunkering down and focusing at the job at hand. And the task at hand is taking back our government from these #Special_Interests and placed back into the hands of #The_People. This can't be done until it is The People themselves who become the legislators and not given away to individuals who are all to easily corrupted by their positions. This type of power in the Hands of The People is called #Direct_Democracy. And anything else no matter how virtuous it may sound is a best a watered down version of what this should be. Now there are many things that will have to be done before and or after we've achieved a good measure of Direct Democracy. As many of you already know this includes things like #Ranked_Choice_Voting and #Separation_of_Money_and_State. And as subcategories under the Separation of Money and State we need to strictly bar Corporate Propaganda & Lobbying as well as #Progressive_Taxation to make sure such interests do not eclipse the power of the state who grants them the right to exist not the other way around. As it is #The_Tail_Is_Wagging_The_Dog where the state is captive to these #Large_Monetary_Interests. And to free ourselves we are going to have to do political surgery to remove such cancers from our government. For if we don't, we will continue to go down this road to #Dystopia and it won't be pretty. We're only going to get out of a system what we make of it. It's going to require a lot of pain and effort to do so. But the alternative is far worse. In short, to see remedy our sustained and conscientious #Action is required.
