I wanted to give you something to think about. | I do fully understand the historical and religious significance of this building. However, the structure was saved, will be rebuilt and no one died. One Billion Dollars was raised in less than 24 hours. In September of 2017, Puerto Rico was hit by Hurricane Maria and was all but whiped from the map. It is now April of 2019, over 3000 people are dead. People still can't buy food, fresh water or medicine. According to the CIA World Factbook, 85% of Puerto Rico is Roman Catholic. I agree totally. I'm for people spending their money on what they want, but they need to realize what it could be better used for. It's somewhere in the bible about how it's wrong to idolize objects. In the end, it's just a building. More lives could be affected positively with that amount of money. The religious organization should divert that money to something better. That's what they supposedly do anyway.

My apologizes for not getting back to you sooner. I wanted to say Thank You, in regard to your comment. I concur, many more lives could be affected positively with that amount of money. I noticed that everyone who stopped by to watch the fire (regardless of the reason), had the advantage of turning away and walking home. I wonder what the sentiment would be if there was no home to go back to? Thanks Again :(
