people forget the purpose of the liberal class,mainly by liberals themselves.
the liberal class was never meant to hold power,but push against it.to keep the debate honest and inject ideas representing the marginalized and disenfranchised.just like conservatives push to adhere to rule of law,and constitutional principles,liberals have their place is the discussion.
sadly,during the Clinton presidency,we saw the liberal class get shut down and became a talking point,a rhetorical reference.democrats speak in liberal language,but they are not liberal.
I get a lot of shit from democrats when I say that.
but it is true.(my opinion of course,but I can make a strong case)
I laugh when I see people try to make the case that Obama was a liberal,or Pelosi,or schumer./looks at their record..yeah...not liberal.
any actual "liberal" policies have been piecemeal at best.a tossed scrap to a very marginalized portion of the electorate.
so these "purity" criticisms are coming almost exclusively from very centric democratic positions.
I call it for what it is:whining
"hey,stop pushing back against our policies.we are doing our best but we have to take things slowly.we need to come together to fight the republicans"
republicans ain't the problem Obama,they are doing exactly what they stated they will do.
YOU and YOUR imbedded,established incumbents...are the f**king problem.along with your complicit media,and your wall street buddies.
and the actual liberals and progressives have taken notice and are challenging the power structure hard.
