I understand the "big government" argument, and it has validity.it just isn't the ONLY argument.
I come from the "power needs to be kept in check" perspective.
as I stated, complicated issues and when spanning over 2 decades..not an easy task to digest.
nothing is simple,or easy.
it takes time to do our due diligence, and America's fourth estate is in serious trouble, has been for decades.
I will add this caveat:
one of the biggest mistakes of the Chavez bolivarian revolutionary government was putting all their eggs on one basket.they nationalized 30% of the Venezuelan oil fields, and never diversified.so when oil was at peak, the Venezuelans benefitted greatly.however, when the prices plummeted, that advantage was reversed.
and the response of the Maduro government has been,well..let's just say "less than stellar".
do not be afraid of "left leaning" (which I didn't really get from those journalists, but whatever, not important),as long as the information is sourced and corroborated.i care not the political leanings.
the point, and it is an important one.
is to always be skeptical when a government,and/or complicit media push a certain narrative.
before a government (in this case ours) will engage in some form of aggressive posturing (be it military, sanctions, regime change, coup) they first have to launch a "cohesive narrative" to justify their aggression.
so it behooves us all to seek out the counter narrative and compare.
because:all governments lie.
thanks for taking the time to check it out mate.
stay awesome.
