We all do. I honestly don't think I know anyone who cares one way or another anymore - the delays and bickering has just been so pointless and we'd rather just deal with whatever damage is coming our way.

We were screaming from the rooftops from the beginning that Brexit as campaigned for by Johnson et al was unworkable and unimplementable. You can vote Santa for mayor but that doesn't mean anyone knows his phone number.

Let me guess you are a Brit , you voted in and wish to be the whipping boy of the eu. And you have no respect for your fellows who won the britex. Sad.

Your world is gonna be shattered shortly. Considering how badly May's deals have been shot down and the only way the EU will give you an extension is to pass the deal through parliament.. you guys are gonna be out in no time. I can't wait to read/watch all the autistic screeching.
You remainers are the same as the anti-trump movement here in the states. You scream and shout about democracy but when a vote goes against what you want you immediately start trying to find a way to overturn it. Sad.

You've both ended your comments with "sad". Weird. It's like you've both been briefed by the same playbook or something.

Brexit would have been simple to overturn if anybody wanted to: it was a non-binding vote on a technocratic decision and NONE of the people who campaigned for it stuck around to implement it. Declaring the whole thing to be nonsense would have been easy and most people would have understood.

But please, keep lecturing me about a culture you don't actually live in.

Kind of like how you lecture us in the US about a culture you don't live in? Hypocrisy much?

I'm dual national. Grew up in San Francisco. Chicago has been most of my adult life.

San Francisco.. that explains a lot. Crazy town in a crazy state. Do you ever question your ideas considering the state you grew up in is basically the biggest shitshow in the union? Lowest standard of living, most homelessness, rampant corruption.. yet you still advocate for the same policies.

Are you asking me or are you rhetorically addressing your conception of a generic California liberal?

Asking. Genuinely curious whether you ever question your positions, because from what I've seen on this site you still seem to believe in the same policies as a "generic california liberal".

That's frustrating because I do argue with people about California and Illinois mainstream politics quite a lot, but relative to your perspective you can't see enough of a difference with me and them - which is more to do with how unaligned you and I are than how aligned I am with California.

But let me clear: my political views come from my education, my research on economics, civics, and policy, and my experiences with my time in the workforce and living in a spectrum of cultures. If you see a resemblance between my views and some ideology, all I can do - even if you don't believe me - is try to impress upon you how well researched my beliefs are and to let that sink in to you.

As are mine, though I suppose your disclaimer of "even if you don't believe me" fits here. My own education, research into history, into the actual effects of economic policy, and travel abroad to both Europe and Asia, as well as nearly the entirety of North America is what informed my beliefs.
