If you're defending against a home invasion, you need a shotgun, not an AR-15!!

Yeah, exactly. You need the intruder shot, not your neighbors through six layers of plaster two blocks away. You need spread, close range damage, and minimal collateral damage. You need a shotgun. An AR-15 is the wrong tool for the job.

I even argue that an AR-15 is overkill for deer hunting but I get a lot of pushback for that - the way I see it, if the accuracy of a bolt-action isn't good enough for you then you just suck at hunting.

But for an intruder there really is no question: you need a shotgun.

That first sentence is the exact reason I'm not taking you seriously. Even with hitting a person the bullet would only go through one or two walls, I've tested it before. And especially since I use soft tipped bullets (which spread when they hit things, therefore slowing down) it MIGHT leave a dent in the wall if it goes completely through in the first place.

Also just because it's not a matter of being accurate with a bolt action, its a matter of me liking the AR-15 better, you can miss just as easily with either if you don't know what you are doing, which you probably don't since you think I could basically snipe my neighbor through a person, six walls, and I don't know how many yards.

Also if you can't understand something as simple as the comparison of inalienable rights, then maybe you shouldn't try preaching to me about my preference between shotguns and rifles.
