How is that great news?

Now Dick's won't be associated with mass shootings. Especially any of them where the rifle/s is/are traced back to Dick's!

I believe the store is making a statement here. Mainly that they abhor the senseless killings going on nationwide, and they wanna do whatever they PERSONALLY can to stop them.

They're not going to stop mass shootings just by pulling their hunting rifles.

1) What mass shooting is carried out by hunting rifles?

2) It isn't the gun that commits the crime, it's the mentally unstable who does it.

3) Banning guns or pulling guns from the stores won't fix the problem.

4) The store isn't committing a crime when a gun is sold to a person who commits the actual crime. The only crime a company could commit is by selling the gun illegally.

But it's not great news at all. It's just more knee-jerk reactions by everyone when a shooting like this happens. Over 500 homicides in Chicago alone involving a gun and no one bats an eye. And Chicago has some of the most strict gun restrictions in the country.

Again, it's Dick's Store making a PERSONAL statement. Sure, the perps will obtain guns elsewhere, but at least it won't be from Dick's.

I see your points, though. Obviously, these shootings won't ever stop unless the US becomes a Police State. And even then, the Patriots will wage a war against the government! I don't look forward to that day!

I say, kudos to Dick's for trying to make a difference. If this decision to remove rifles saves just one life, then it's worthwhile :-)
