Hello. I'm here to help you with your questions about having an event. Boma gave you some good advice. But for your first event may I suggest a weekend instead of a week, due to it requiring effort, and to get a feel for it. Just an idea. And have you thought of getting a co host to help?

Common theme events work well. You should upvote and comment on every meme submitted for your event, including checking the tab for the event to catch those you miss. If there is no tab for your event you can make one by typing in the event name and pushing enter.

I personally to promote the event will put one meme out ten days before the event then at least one meme for each seven days before the event.

Have you ever host led an event week? I like the idea behind yours, but there are some things you should do first. One promote a couple of weeks in advance. Get people excited for and give them time to think of submissions for it.

Then you need a tag for people to search it by. It’s pretty simple to do, but vital for a good theme week.

Have some examples during the time you are promoting it. Your meme above is actually a good example of that, but as the host you will need more ready to go.

Lastly pick the dates. Events have a time set by the host. Check out Doggo week as a good example. Search the tag and look at how they went about setting it up. Good luck, it looks like it can be fun :)

Hassling people who try to impose rules on others? Not really all that much. But it's preferable overall to letting it slide (I feel like someone should say something, because otherwise people could take the rules seriously).

It's good to help out other users, but what you're doing isn't the right way to do it in my view.

Theme weeks tend to have rules otherwise it’s just chaos. If you don’t like the theme or don’t like the rules don’t join in. Pretty simple to me.
