Any tips? I'm All Ears

What is your goal? To become one who creates good memes which are creative and original, or just to get memes on the front page? To get in the top users board, get on the weekly leaderboard? To all of these my answer is.... (drumroll please....) Just be social.

This accomplishes all of that. When you get out there and socialize people will visit your page, and upvote your memes, and comment on your memes as well as the comments you make with them. Also make sure you are up voting in return though. It's rude if you don't. This activity will get your meme in the "Hot" pages, and likely land you on the weekly leader board, as well on the top users board also.

HOWEVER. I also don't recommend this if your heart isn't in it. As the comment activity will feel more like a chore if you do not truly enjoy it. I love meming with my friends here. It's fun, and a great way to unwind and have a laugh. It also gets the creativity flowing. The improv in comments stretches your brain and sometimes good ideas come from that creative exercise.

Try making some of your own templates. Many of us enjoy taking an idea and editing existing templates, or making a new one from photos we took, or dug up in a search. However, I will say sometimes memes that we think are our best may not make it to the hot pages. I have had some go over like a lead balloon when I thought they were the best thing since sliced bread. It happens to us all.
So yeah. Have fun, be social, run with the ideas that cross your mind, and write them down so you don't forget what they are. That's all I got. Several paragraphs of advice. LOL

Only thing I would add is leave politics out of your memes and comments unless you are in the political thread. Tends to be a buzzkill. Many may share your sense of humor, but not your political beliefs. The fun thread should be just that,fun. :)

That is an important piece of advice. Mind your streams. In addition to politics, If you are into gaming also, those memes never make it very far outside of the gaming stream.

Agreed, I keep my political memes where they belong. If only facebook was like that. Lol

I agree about the socializing part and why I've really enjoyed being here. I always upvote comments and even go to their profiles and comment or upvote a few of their memes. Just wondered if my memes weren't good enough or there was another catch to get noticed. Thanks!

Sometimes it's just a matter of building rapport. Sometimes people don't check out other people's pages. They may be too busy for all the extra activity. You haven't been here very long, so that's probably a part of it. You'll become a familiar face soon enough. As far as myself, I just found myself interacting with the same people a lot. It wasn't intentional. IT just happened to be that these same people were always on around the same time as me. So we wound up hanging out in comments together frequently and it just grew from there.
