People these days are more concerned with being right than they are with trying to understand other peoples' perspective and finding common ground.
That's one of the biggest problems with our current political system. Political parties these days have become tribal. It's like "I'm this party and you aren't, so since you're in favor of that I won't be". Almost as if they can't have the same opinion about something by default.
That's why I'm glad I vote non-partisan
