The constitution says the government is responsible for the protection of our borders. There is nothing in the constitution about the government providing healthcare to everybody.

If my taxes pay for the wall, it protects me from illegal aliens. If my taxes pay for your healthcare, there is no benefit to me.

For the same reason that it's the government's role to provide defense to the entire nation via the military, but not the government's role to provide defense to individuals by paying your mortgage.

It's like, "Hey, we need a wall to protect the people! But the people don't need health care! Just walk the polio off, Jimmy!"

They have a vaccine for that. Since 1979, no cases of polio have originated in the United States. However, the virus has been brought into the country by travelers with polio. The last time this happened was in 1993.

Also it's a joke.

I know, but I wouldn't be surprised if it made a comeback with all these anti-vaxxers all over the place.
