Relative to the industry it pays very well, compared to what I earned prior to the economic policies of the previous administration, I'm earning about 20% of what I earned before. Part of my frustration,as you are familiar with, is having an 8:15 minute dispatch and having to take a 30 minute break somewhere in that 8 hours. I used to work 14-20 hours a day for weeks, now I can't work more than 70 hours in 8 days, even if I'm fully rested each day, so I get to sit and do nothing in some isolated truck stop for 34 hours, as if I am more refreshed by that. And actually the meme was inspired by spending the last two weeks driving from Baltimore to Boston multiple times, and hanging out in Secaucus, NJ much longer than I care to (that's about 32 seconds). Micromanaging and one size fits all regulations are not my friends.
