why you do expect of others what you don't demonstrate yourself?

I haven't heard it's genetic. The phrases "inherent", "natural", and "not a choice" are regularly used.
It doesn't appear to be genetic. There may genetic predisposition, that combined with other factors makes it more likely.
One theory I heard is that it has yo do with the timing of hormones when in development in the womb.

My personal oppinion, everyone is actually bisexual. If the right parts get touched in the right way.... There are two factors, what turns you off, and what turns you on. Some of these are inherent (attractions or aversion to certain sexually based traits, such as p**is and boob) and some of these are learned (attractions to cartoon ponies not even found in nature, for example).
But it is important to make sure not to cause harm with sexual behavior (by spreading diseases, involving those who don't/can't consent, or making an unwanted child)
Homosexuality harms no-one.
