Stab in the dark: People of the world came together to solve a problem that seemed impossibly large and impossible to solve?

Stretch armstrong | I THINK YOU GAVE IT MORE THOUGHT THAN SHE DID | image tagged in stretch armstrong | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
Not bad reverse engineering, but this wasn't a cohesive thought.. it was off the cuff.. which is what all of her comments are.. she has a mission.. and that's to give free stuff to everyone to try and garner votes.. there's a reason why the math behind this doesn't work.. because.. it's MATH.. lol.. Do you know that Al Gore made millions trading carbon credits between big "polluters" and buying them from "green friendly" companies.. in essence this whole shell game is just another way to implement a tax..

There is no way climate change is not going to cost us money. Two schools of thought:
1. Do nothing.
Two possible outcomes. A. Against all scientific knowledge, somehow nothing happens. There is a very small chance this will happen considering we're already seeing changes in climate.
B. Oceans rise like scientists say they will. Most ocean front is decimated, costing trillions upon trillions of dollars and lost cities on three coasts. The overall costs many times what it would have been had we stopped the problem from happening.

2. We work hard at trying to prevent 1 from happening. A. We spend a lot of money and if we do it right, become the leader in the world for renewable energy and environmental solutions, creating millions of jobs and transforming our country. Overall costs in increased taxes and expenses, something like 1/5th that of doing nothing.

Who cares if Al made money working with carbon credits? That's an example of a system that could work. Most people in the field say a carbon tax is one solution to get us to move off carbon based fuels. Yes, solutions cost money. There is no way around that.

Change My Mind Meme | CARBON CREDITS AND TAXES AREN'T BEING STORED IN A FUND TO SAVE THE WORLD | image tagged in change my mind | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
I'll bite on some of that. What if the cause is irreversible? And governments are just taxing us so people can arbitrage it like Al Goreleoni did ? It's feel good politics and taxing it with carbon taxes aren't deterring behavior it's costing money to consumers and making government bigger. The money also isn't be used to help the world. In fact it's probably being spent on things that are using more energy like keeping the lights on in big government buildings that non-essential personnel aren't even in but are still going to receive back pay from !

374,000 people are employed in solar energy. 187,000 people are employed in oil, gas, and coal power combined. The transfer is already happening. In fact, it is so far along at this point it can't be stopped. New solar power plants are undercutting new coal power plant construction costs. Coal, being the traditionally CHEAPEST power plant choice. There is no stopping this transfer no matter how much the GOP tries.

You should be asking yourself, "who exactly is making so much money off the current traditional system that they are doing everything they can to prevent an energy revolution?" THAT, is the real question.

Jimmy Carter | OUTLAWED THE CONSTRUCTION OF NEW NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS IN THE COUNTRY STARTED HAVING BLACKOUTS AT THE WHITE HOUSE. | image tagged in jimmy carter | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
I'm not against solar at all. It's just more efficient in some parts of the world than others. If you want to get the most efficient cheapest power there's a simple answer for that, nuclear. Why are the democrats so against, clean efficient inexpensive power ? Jimmy Carter crippled the power grid and now Iran, Pakistan and India have better power plants than we do.

Nuclear might be an option but I've lived in two states with it nearby. One, where I was more than happy when it was finally decommissioned because it was too old and antiquated. The other plant is still in operation and I can't help remember how bad the last one was. We still don't even have a permanent home for waste yet. A lot of problems need to be solved to make nuclear a viable option again.

Germany is situated higher than most of America and solar is working great for them. Location isn't a complete obstacle.

The United States Nuclear Submarine program is the most successful example of how nuclear power can be harnessed safely, yet people have activism on their sleeves and are immune to hearing about the science behind how safe nuclear energy can be. If you're upset about old nuclear plants being a problem you can thank the peanut farmer from the 70's !

I'm not saying nuclear isn't good. It's not Jimmy Carter's fault that we still have not opened a permanent waste facility. If it wasn't such a NIMBY issue it would be solved.
