it could count as trespassing though. The natives may not have fully believed in private property, but wouldn't you count tribal lands as such?

But the OP only referred to immigration and trespassing can't count if it not officially owned property.

if someone's living on land and its unowned, that makes that property valid for ownership. so Tribal land was indeed private property

well many of those tribes were very warlike so its quite possible this is true.

B.S. they fought over this land with us in a century of bloody conflicts. They were experts in guerilla warfare and had the advantage on their side and we still won, but not without losing many MANY people.

Yeah, I watched 'dances with wolves' when I was young and had that attitude but some tribes were more violent than others, some practised cannibalism, some owned slaves. And yeah, they fought a good battle but unfortunately for them, they lost. The romanticizing and glorification of them does sometimes get a bit much.

don't forget the eskimos, they practiced infanticide.

Never knew that. If you go back far enough in every group, there's skeletons in every closet. I just hate when truth is ignored when it's convenient.
