One of The Times Howard Caught on Fire
This story starts in a forest. Howard and I were running from the police when we saw a hole in the ground. Naturally we thought it was an escape tunnel from the prison nearby. It seemed like our only option so we jumped in. We fell quite far before hitting something hard, but it turned out I just knocked into a dead body. As we fell through this strange hole I could see the layers of the earth changing around me. First the crust, it was about five to seventy kilometers thick. It was made of granite, so we were falling through a continental crust.
After a while Howard and I got bored so we started to play go fish, it was hard playing without the cards. Soon enough the walls of the hole got harder and I knew we were in the mantle (2,900 kilometers thick), the lithosphere to be exact. After a while of falling the walls got softer so I knew we were getting closer to the core. Howard and I were now in the asthenosphere, and getting closer to the core which is 3,500 kilometers thick.
I soon saw another body flying closer to my face. Quickly I realized that I was in the outer layer of the core. There was liquid iron and nickel all around me. I reached out to touch some of it. It was very hot and I suddenly had a craving for sushi. Howard wanted to touch the hot metal, but quickly realized it was a bad idea. Howard caught on fire! I rusher to her aid, but Howard flew into the geyser of metal. I tried to go after her but saw her come back with a smoothie. “HOWARD I WANT SOME OF THAT!” I screamed. I am not a smoothie person but I had been falling for a while and was hungry. Sadly I did not get to drink a lot of the smoothie, as I had to use it to put out Howard. I did get to lick some of it off her though.
Soon the liquid iron and nickel became solid. I knew then we were in the inner layer of the core. I looked around for anyone else, as the hole had become wider and more open. I thought maybe someone else was down here too. I came to the depressing realisation no one else was dumb enough to jump into a mysterious hole. Howard and I flew closer to the center of the Earth, it became hotter and more compressed. As we grew closer I could see something. A big something. A black hole. I knew that was the only way out of here, so I grabbed Howard and tried to “swim” over to the circle of nothingness.
