I honestly don't understand how these are even legal.

I cannot imagine actually NEEDING lights that bright all the time. They even keep them on in the daytime.

They really do blind everyone in oncoming traffic. Seriously. Especially pick up trucks since the lights are about directly at eye level.

Even beyond the in-the-moment blindness from the actual light, but the dark spots I see for 5 minutes after make it hard to drive.

I switched to LED because the lamps that Toyota recommended couldn't handle the voltage. I got tired of replacing my headlamps every couple of months

I wonder how many consumer complaints they recieve about that? I tell ya, I have nearly driven off the road quite a few times because of those lights. They are a real danger. Sometimes I have to actually come to a stop because I can't see a darned thing.

I'm sure they probably did design it that way. I doubt it's just Toyota, too. I see so many more popeye these cars than I used to.

I am going to predict some sort of major push on this issue. So many people complaining (albeit to the wrong people). Let ONE deadly accident happen. We'll see some law or push for a law, named after someone who died and BOOM. It will be a political issue, and someone somewhere will vow, swear and promise to end LED headlights for good from here to Mars. It's just a matter of time. I would think that a vehicle manufacturer would be more on top of things, but if they have no reason to address this then they never will.

Unfortunately, we as a society have always been more reactive. It will take a stream of disasters before manufacturers do anything about it. It's like the electronic gas pedal problem a few years back

My husband drives a Chevy Impala. I have spent the last 8 years all but begging him to trade that piece of garbage in. For some reason with that particular vehicle, there seems to be a lemon problem. Like every 20th one is riddled with problems. I think he is finally going to cave and something reliable!

I think some folks get a charge out of running people off the road. If they are behind me I pull over and let them get in front. Around here we have one fool who loves to ride your butt while blinding you from the back. Some young punk who thinks it's cute.
