The fact is that Trump didn't get the chance to shut the government down as he didn't get a budget to veto. Furthermore the republicans passes a budget in the house which was filibustered by democrats in the senate. If a vote was allowed the bill would have passed and the government not shut down.

As it is now, both parties must keep the a budget from passing to keep the government closed, but with the blame game, only one side ever gets blamed.

As for Trump's comment, that is his propaganda, not the facts behind what happened or why a new budget has not passes. But thanks for the insults over reason and facts.

lol what? Trump is being blamed for the shutdown because he created the shutdown. It's nobody else's fault but his. He agreed to the budget and then, after it was passed, he changed his mind and demanded more.

That kind of "negotiation" might have worked for him when he was a spoiled rich kid, but it won't work now. If we give him anything as a result of his tantrum, he's just going to do the same thing in the future whenever he doesn't get his way. That's not how the US government works. We're a republic, not a dictatorship.

If he wants to talk about building a wall, he can reopen the government and talk about it.

LOL, so it's Trump's fault the democrats in the senate filibustered the budget and will not vote for one that contains funding for something they supported before Trump was president. That you bring up the last budget where he didn't actually get what he asked for ahead of time and blaming Trump for not agreeing shows you are not even bothering to talk about this showdown, but something that isn't related to the latest budget.

The icing on the cake is the fact that you just supported holding the government hostage to get your own way while detailing a valid reason for Trump to not let the democrats force republicans everything they wish before "negotiation", like he did with the last budget when they did the exact same thing and Trump gave in and warned he wouldn't be doing that again.

Of course it's Trump's fault. He agreed to the budget and then changed his mind after the deal was done, and decided to hold the government hostage until he gets his way, so he "doesn't look like a fool" for promising that he would compel Mexico to pay for it without actually having any real leverage to make that happen. It's 100% the fault of his fragile ego and terrible "negotiating" skills. Every American knows this, which is why his approval rating is tanking. How in the world could it be blamed on anyone else?

LOL, ignoring the facts and repeating the same thing over and over doesn't make you right. You yourself gave a good reason for Trump to hold out this time, but you keep talking about the last shutdown when Trump gave in.

That's approval rating over two years, dude. (Which has consistently been lower than any other president since Truman, by the way.)

I honestly don't understand how anyone could support this guy after all the moronic, criminal things he's done, but I guess if you live in an echo chamber where the only principle anyone has is "owning the libs" then it makes sense.
