It catastrophically failed every time in the past. And in the countries it's still "working" in, the policies are simply bleeding these formerly-rich countries dry until they inevitably collapse.

So it's not a surprise that Socialism turned tyrannical. Now you can point to things like how they didn't have equal pay in the USSR, but Socialism was installed as a way to build up to Communism and that's why they didn't have equal pay. Marx basically saw it all as a process, so they were getting to the point where they would have things like equal pay and so by those facts they were going of off Marx's ideas. It would also explain why they automatically installed things that wouldn't take a long period of time to install.
