Some are suggesting that he is a second coming of John Dean. I don't agree. Dean was basically honest and went over to the dark side. I think Cohen is more like David Brock the former neo-con insider who came to his wits and rejected his past bad deeds as chronicled in his book, "Blinded by the Right: The Conscience of an ex-Conservative." Like Dean, Cohen is appearing after being sentenced to prison for his misdeeds. They both admitted their guilt. But, Cohen is required to tell the truth or face more prosecution and many more years in prison. We know that Cohen ties Trump to pay offs aimed at keeping sensitive information from coming to light before the election. We will have to see what other allegations he makes. But, you and I probably agree that the president is "innocent until proven guilty." We probably disagree on whether he should be given an opportunity to defend himself in court as soon as possible. In closing, please make your response factual and not just insults aimed at me because we hold different political positions. Otherwise, I wish you well and I will not respond.

Remember, Dershowitz is the man who defended O.J. Simpson. He has credibility problems in legal circles and outside of extreme right wing media.

Dershowitz has been a gadfly, mostly in civil liberties circles. My point is that he does things that give him a high profile, regardless. As for Hillary Clinton, the difference is that she was assigned the child molester client by a law clinic for the poor where she volunteered. She found the client to be detestable and asked to have him assigned to another lawyer, and was told that she had to take the case. Dershowitz willingly took the OJ case and made many millions of dollars doing so. And, Alan Dershowitz knows that criminals turning on their compatriots put away more miscreants than any other single method. Currently, the Mexican king-pin El-Chapo is being tried in New York. The prime witness against him is a former employee, who is a proven criminal and liar. He and Cohen both have concrete reasons to tell the truth. That concrete is in the walls of prisons they will avoid. It is basic behavioral modification. The fact that Dershowitz would make his statement, while knowing it is untrue, says a lot. Ask your lawyer friends.

Most lawyers pray for "High profile" cases. Because a lawyer reps a criminal doesn't make he/she a criminal, it is their job. The FBI proved cohen is a liar. Cohen will say whatever he has to, to lessen his sentence.
