Lord knows how many lives this kid saved by telling authorities about a fellow student's mass shooting plans!

Really! I think people are little more cautious now that they know how many crazies are willing to do something... well... CRAZY. Glad to know someone spoke up!

And I'm almost positive this is the second time I've read about a mass shooting being thwarted in the past two weeks. There was also a plan by a few teens close by my town here in Rhode Island about a month back. I just don't understand why they are even contemplating such horrific acts to begin with!

I think there are a lot of layers to this problem. When I was growing up this didn't happen.

The first time I remember this sort of thing occurring was back in '99. The Columbine Shooting!

After that kids were no longer allowed to wear trench coats at school.

Something is different in young people (all people) anymore. When these kids hit their 40-50s let's hope nobody entrusts them with the nuke codes. :)

I am glad the kid reported it and that the people who was informed took the report seriously.

A month or so ago there was an incident at my old school with law enforcement investigating a report where a student threatened to shoot another student. They didn't find anything but I am glad they are taking these matters seriously.

I don't have any kids, but I'm sure I'd be worried about them if I did have any
