Had a babysitter who brought over her albums - think her parents would not let her play them at home. She had Aqualung and Thick As A Brick amoung others. Bought Bursting Out that was released a year or two later.
Was in the UK in the 80's, attended an outdoor Fairport Convention event. As a surprise Ian Anderson was dropped by helicopter enroute to a gig in London. Jammed for 20 mins. Then, with a cherrie "Buh-Bye", headed skyward again.
Sorry, was getting a little nostalgic.

Don't get me started on prog bands LOL
It's amazing how your musical "journey" can be affected by seemingly random events :-)
i had thought of doing a hunting girl one but didn't want to make this too long. thank you for some really good comments. i feel a little guilty. i like the band but wouldn't call myself a huge fan (i mean i just heard heavy horses for the first time this week). this meme came from a STRANGE dream i had about cross eyed mary brand panties. lets just say some drinking was done and the radio was on when i woke up.
That's how it starts, you are not a huge fan just a few lines, a rift or two in the back of your mind. But then you try a new album. First listen, meh, but you try it again, you go back for more and then . . . you're ADDICTED!!!
Happy and I'm smiling, walk a mile to drink your water..yet.. really don't mind if I sit this one out, but can you cook can you sew? I don't want to know, that is not what you need on the inside, because hare had a spare pair.
I'm going back to the ones that I know,
With whom I can be what I want to be.
Just one week for the feeling to go
And with you there to help me
Then it probably will.
I was in a record store in Denver flipping through the Tull albums (I Thick as a Brick and Aqualung) and a guy who looked like Martin Barre handed me Benefit and said, this is the best album they ever did, bought it, never regretted it. Saw them in concert (how many times???) Learned quickly, if you took your eyes off the stage for a second you missed something. Not the kind you have to wind up....
Yep, Benefit has grown on me, as has Songs From the Wood over the years. Only managed to see Tull twice, had tickets for a third concert but Ian had to cancel due to illness/throat issues.
