I own my house, and my car is paid for. I don't need credit. And credit scores are just the banks' way of talking shit about you anyway.

I have two credit cards. One I have had for some time in case of emergency that you have to have A tier credit just to apply for. It has a zero balance. The other is my corporate card and you have to pay that off each month too. I’ve used it once.
We do have a car payment. My wife’s 2018 SUV. Once it is paid for I will look for a new car, but we won’t carry to loans at a time.
I think everybody has to develop their own way of handling money. There is no one size fits all solution. The key to it all, I think, what works best for each person? For you, obviously, credit cards are a solution that works. That all that matters.

Credit cards are the crack cocaine of the financial world. We avoid them like the plague. But once in a while you need one. Can’t rent heavy equipment without one and I will be needing an excavator this spring. The key (and it is hard) is deciding if you can go without until you can pay cash. We lucky that we have reached that point. Others don’t have that option.
