According to the biblical Christian worldview (the one which can actually make sense of the universal laws of logic and universal standards of human morality):

God is all powerful
God is all good
Evil exists

Also according to the Christian worldview:

Romans 8:28
And we know that God causes *ALL THINGS* to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

*All things* includes every type of moral and natural evil. God is causing all of that evil and everything else to work together for good to those who love him. I'm sorry that you haven't gotten to experience that yet. I pray that one day you will. It is not about God loving us therefore he should stop the evil, it is about us loving him so he causes good to come out of the evil we endure.

There are Christian who love God who have not yet learned to recognize the good being caused by God through the evil they have experienced. That is something we mature into.

For the mature bible believer there is no "problem of evil" nor is there such a thing as "needless/pointless" suffering.
