My wife hates Christmas because her father died on Christmas Day. Want to tell her she’s an asshole?

So sorry to hear that, anniversaries can be tough enough without something like that.

It didn’t help that it was a stupid death. He had been warned not to have surgery because his diabetes was too severe. But he did and it killed him.

Sorry to hear that. One of the first things that struck me strange about life was how often relatives die near Christmas. For esp old people, I think the weather & all is too much. Honestly, i would except no blame nor guilt over this comix at all. It is not about indiv tragedy at all....it is about anti-Christmas A-holes. We ALL have had tragedy at many times of the yr. That being said, it is even more important to celebrate& commiserate. Christmas is a time to give thanks & love our dearly departed & even MORE important those we still have & enjoy the time we have left.

Or maybe they're just of a different religion and resent Christmas being shoved down their throats by the "War On Christmas" nuts

Many people don't seem to realize that the freedom or religion part of the 1st ammendment means freedom of all religions

That's why the US has not "official" religion and why religious organizations are exempt from tax and other various laws
