My city like Los Angeles thinks they can make the area more dense and reduce car trips. But more people are buying and using cars here which is the opposite of what they wanted to happen.

Despite the resident's negative responses. It's all about money and greed. This is just another justification for them to overdevelop. They proclaim all the new resident's will ride bicycles and use public transit, but during the period of time they've been saying this public transportation numbers have significantly dropped, while car ownership is steadily increasing. Although now that they allow illegal aliens to have drivers licenses here, that could explain the drop and the increase in cars owned. That's just one example, there are others.

To be serious though my city like all of Los Angeles has seen a steep decline in use of public transportation for cars. Which is the opposite of what both these areas have been trying to do which is get the people out of their cars. And of course due to the lost revenue the Metropolitan Transit Board is going to try and tax and toll car user to make car transportation more expensive. It's such a scam.
