Mackies, I had hoped to have a reasonable discourse with you after my response to the environmental improvements meme discussion. There, just a casual look at the differences between 1930s to present should temper the idea that things are worse than ever, that my generation has destroyed the planet for your generation and that my generation's greed means an end to life as we know it. Nothing could be further from the truth and it torments me that young people don't see that human ingenuity can overcome many problems, yet chose suicide thinking they have no future. Nothing could be further from the truth. The future is good and awesome even with the unknowns.
Now for some more truth, I'm sure you think anyone with a pickup and shotgun is a bigot, racist, homophobic a$$. By throwing out your bigoted statements about Americans, etc you make yourself an equal bigot. I say this as a caution for you as you engage others in future debates, smears weaken your position, and I am guilty as charged- no need for you to repeat my mistakes. You are smart and quite capable of being very articulate, don't compromise the high road in debate.
It is typical for new administrations to continue the policy actions of past administrations where there is not a priority to change course. Like I said on the other meme, ask one more question. If it was not an issue to the media when the chain link cage pictures were taken during Obama, why is it an issue when Trump is accused of horrendous abuses, even though no children were kept in the same cages? The INS has had sufficient room to accommodate children in dorm like settings, the kids in cages were from the unaccompanied minor crisis during Obama. The policy change Trump corrected was the separation of families, but as with the Obama administration, Trump officials are concerned that child victims of human trafficking are not reunited with their kidnappers and abusers and are reunited with their real family. These policies are to protect the innocent and defenseless- common sense wouldn't you agree?
I worked near the border south of Tucson where we encountered a lot of illegals, mostly "mules". I speak Spanish and was surprised to learn they weren't carrying 80 lb packs of marijuana for money, but for ransom for sisters, wives, daughters and mothers kidnapped by cartels to force them to transport drugs. None of them wanted to stay in the US, they wanted to hurry back to Mexico to be sure their women weren't raped, murdered or sold
