President Trump did a lot to help the auto industry. Look at the terms of the USMCA that replaced NAFTA. If you don't own an American problem, you have done more to hurt the industry then Trump has.

The only time Trump supports American workers is to gain and keep votes and then that is just just words.
When he had sole discretion to use American workers for his products he didn't.
The analyses of the USMCA that I have seen say it's like the old Who song: "meet the new boss, same as the old boss." I have two vehicles, a Ford pickup and a Chevy sedan for the record..
One of the big provisions is that companies must pay a wage commensurate to US wages based on cost of living. If I remember correctly, auto workers will now be paid a minimum of $14/hr in Mexico.
