The other God was a jealous and wrathful God, which did not wish to share of the fruit from whence the Gods got their wisdom. The sumerian story was not where the Hebrews got their creation story. All cultures world wide share a flood story as well and it as nothing to do with one culture copying another. All humans descend from survivors of the Great Flood of the Bible! Just as ALL HUMANS descend from a point of Creation which involved a Creator, all cultures has a version of that creation point which suits their particular society and its values.
