One is a picture of the justice system in a foreign country. The other is a picture of an invasion of our country. So yes, I am more concerned with what happens to my country.
I have no idea of what crime he was convicted of. However, it is still the right of each country to determine the punishment for crimes in their jurisdiction. We still have the death penalty.

I disagree. ANY group of foreign nationals looking to forcibly enter another country is an invasion. They forcibly entered Mexico, that is an invasion. If they enter the US legally, I have no problem, otherwise, they are invading.
