Facebook was just an example I threw out there.
Without some regulations, and only governments can enforce them realistically, we would have a lot more Exxon Valdez's, no worker rights, no workplace safety, on and on and on.
Just yammering "less government,less government" doesn't make the situation better. You benefit from government, whether you realize it or not. It's not all bad and the private sector is not all good. We need a balance.

There is no such thing as a totally free market.
There is no such thing as free trade.
This no government utopia you ascribe to will never happen.
People, companies, governments, none of them can be trusted to do the right thing absent some form of regulation.

If you can't trust people to spend their own money, then how can government be trusted to spend the money they demand from them?

Of course there will always be bad people. Irresponsible people. There's no such thing as a perfect humanity, yet trusting people who know how to restrict a lot, waste a lot in spending, kill a lot, and increase the national debt more and more somehow balance everything out?? Most people don't do nearly that much damage than the state does...

Yeah, as Timber says, you do not seem to understand economics 101. Also, neither of us advocate towards a utopia society by any means. Just a more productive, more efficient, and more reasonable one.

The dystopian future sci-fi writers have described what a private corporation driven world would be like many times over.

Those movies don't necessarily reflect reality. Socialists who are emotionally attached to taxes have a hard time with reality, and a lot of Mainstream media is socialist too. Because somehow, the problems of government are blamed on the market.

All economic transactions as voluntary within a free market economy would be less oppressive than a mixed economy in which has coercive policies thrown in...

Government itself has a gigantic monopoly on force. And without government protection in a heavily regulated economy, it would be tough for corporations to hold onto their monopolies.
