"I was with the president of Finland, and he said, ‘We have a much different — we’re a forest nation.’ He called it a forest nation,” Trump continued. “And they spent a lot of time on raking and cleaning and doing things, and they don’t have any problem."
He was saying the Finns actively manage their forests. California does not because forest management is 'bad for the environment'. It would have taken about 100 years for controlled burns to do as much environmental damage as this million acre wildfire has done.
Managing the forests costs tax dollars and Californian government officials have figured out that they can not only avoid paying those taxes by neglecting their responsibilities, but that they can take in billions of dollars of Federal aid by shouting "help me" when forest fires do occur. People are dying in the most painful and terrible way possible because of California's leaderships greed.
Maybe you should focus on the horrendous mismanagement of California's forests by its government instead of an inconsequential word spoken by the president.
