Eastern NC style sauce fan myself but hey, I like anything and everything bbq

Well I’m sure not far from there so I’ll have to try that kind too! My fave are the tangy vinegar kind but I’m like you, I’ll try it all lol

Eastern NC does the hot vinegar based sauce. I'm in SC and we're known for mustard base, and even being a native I don't get it. It's ok on occasion, but meh

Well this is the OG so if you're going to try it just go for this...that is if you don't mind a touch of racism on the side, haha. There's a lot of controversy around Maurices but the BBQ is decent, the hash is awesome, and the sauce is legendary. Still not my go-to, but it's got a cult following here. Hudson's in Lexington and Mike and Jeff's in Greenville are still my faves. Of course the best is what comes off my smoker!

You'll probably have to actually go to Maurices to try the sauce, very few stores actually sell it anymore. They are all over Columbia tho so check it out, "Piggie Park" is the big one right near downtown. Hudsons is right off 378, probably 15-20 mins from the fort, check it out for Sunday lunch, it's the best, albeit busiest, time to go. Enjoy, and let me know what you think! I have family there so we know a bunch of good places to go.
