This is the first 445 days in office for both administrations. S&P 500 is the index used via the ETF symbol "SPY"

Bush 2: full 8 yr SPY return is -31.2% yes that is negative. Lost almost a third of it's value over that 8 yr period.
Obama 8 yr: 232.25% More than tripled over his 8 yrs

it wont let me reply to your other threads, yes we are keeping up with inflation, even if we were not, i would rather have small inflation and alot of work than no inflation and No work. and TRUMP blasted the fed for raising rates, what else is he to do, what is the democrat answer? raise taxes F that!

so wait, lol, You saying that trump wants the fed to raise rates and faked his whole being mad at the fed??? lol, it gets better, lemme guess, trump wants the fed to raise rates so the markets will go down and he will look bad?? DENIAL lol. TRUMP may be wrong on some things but he is right on the economy.. This the best argument the democrats have to Blue color laborers , Dont vote for trump, his policies may tank your jobs in the future, Vote for the clintons who backstabbed you with NAFTA . rich lol

I am saying you can't believe a word he says, about anything. And if you are foolish enought to believe him he will change his words, sometimes mere minutes later, saying the exact opposite thing. Can't blame you for voting YOUR pocketbook but YOUR pocketbook doesn't mean the same to everyone else. This record low unemployment... is it good paying jobs with benefits? or just seasonal part time work? You have to look deeper into the data than you are currently doing.

"you can't believe a word he says" You are right, i dont believe any word any politicians says , ESPECIALLY a CLINTON! PERIOD !(borrowed that one from BHO) They all lie, they are all into their egos , But Trump made good on some of his so called "Lies" There is the joke that goes around the job, What is Trumps biggest asset? He isn't a Clinton"!

Best argument yet for instituting a "ranked choice" voting system. Then we wouldn't be forced into this "lesser than 2 evils" that you have down pat. You could have abstained voting on the president. And still vote on the others. I have done that. I already voted absentee for this election. Mickey is going to be one very busy mouse if he wins all the races I put him in.

Oh, i was voting for who ever had the best chance of beating the backstabbing corrupt crook clintons. It was a bonus that trump did way better than i expected . I didn't expect much.

Another reason for "ranked choice". It will ease this 2 party stranglehold

it wont let me reply to your ranked choice post, but hey, I was a registered D for many yrs now IND. Voted for Perot way back when, wish he woulda won, nafta would have never happened so you may be right.

Yeah. I liked Ross he was a true businessman. Not like the fake one we currently have. I wish he would have won. I don't vote along party lines. I vote against incumbents that are seeking more than a 2nd term. Australia has had "ranked choice voting" for over 100 yrs IIRC

If you think the stock market returns are better under Republican presidents vs Democrat presidents you are sorely mistaken. Do some research. The best stock market returns are when the president is Democrat and the Senate is Republican.
2 ups, 6y
But we'll settle for a "Republican" president and a Democratic Senate. For two years.

And maybe when Republicans elect representatives instead of alarmist liberal obstructionists projectionists pretending to be fiscal conservatives, maybe we'll have civility. Maybe.

What was unemployment rate at your local BT and AT? before Trump and after Trump.
Are other locals experiencing the same thing or is this just a pocket of strength in your area?
What % raise did your local gain for it's members in the most recent contract negotiations?
Inflation was 2.8% in the last 12 months without factoring in energy and food.
I just checked gas prices in my area they are up almost 14%.
My food prices aren't going down.
What I am saying is just because your geographic area is great for you in your line of work doesn't mean the same for the USA as a whole. Plus you need to factor in inflation. It isn't as rosy as you are making it out to be.

Is it the same across the country? Is your contract keeping up with inflation?

put it his way, they should start calling Trump "McDonalds" because "I'm Lovin' it" along with my bros to $$$$$$$, and to top it off, Trump is trying to take the Knife out of our backs that Clinton put in there "NAFTA" and B4 you say "Bush sr wanted it too" I know and Bush Sr is an asshole for wanting it, but it was dead till Backstabber bill made it law.

Just admit it man. You don't know anything outside of your geographic area. You can't tell me if your contract is keeping up with inflation. Not a very convincing argument you have there claiming Trump is great for our nation while basing it only upon 5k of your union brothers. SMH

Just admit it man, you have not seen the NATIONAL UNEMPLOYMENT FIGURES at 3.7% , here is a link to the bureau of nat stats!!!! https://data.bls.gov/timeseries/LNS14000000

I have seen that. Not denying those numbers at all. But you gotta know, well maybe not you, that is going to increase inflation faster. If you are unwilling or unable to tell me if your contract is keeping up with inflation then there really is no need to continue this back and forth.

I already know what your geographic area is. Why are you afraid to answer if your contract is keeping up with inflation?

Look I get you are ecstatic about all the work in your area. But when making decisions about the good of the nation you have to look beyond your limited geographic area. I am retired that is why I can post all hours of the day and night. Are you posting to this website while at work? Bet your boss loves that productivity if that is indeed the case.
