So why can't a caravan of U.S. Citizens roll into Mexico if a caravan of citizens from Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala did? It would look bad if the Mexican Government stopped one group but not the other, no?

I believe that they would want to go, the difference is that unlike the people in the illegal caravan, U.S. Citizens have to go to work and would get fired if caught on video.

No problem, and I believe you are right that the U.S. Military likely can't go there. I just wish about 20,000 armed U.S. Citizens would to shut this shit down. If the Mexican government responded with Paramilitary it would expose them as being complicit and all bets would be off. They aren't fooling anyone with that BS that they couldn't stop the caravan.
